Shooting the ball is similar to passing. You want your hands to be in the same position and face sideways to the goal. Your arms should be up and at 90 degree angles to your body. step toward the goal pointing your toes and shifting your weight forward. Remember to follow through. If you stop moving the stick at the point of release, that means you started slowing it down too soon.
When shooting on the run, remember to aim at the far side of the goal. Do not break your stride. Your shot should be hard enough to turn your body so that your back is moving towards the goal at the end of your shot.
When close to the net, choke up on your stick and use your wrists for a more accurate shot. You do not need to shoot it hard, just put it where the goalie isn't.
